SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF MIGRATION OF THE VOJVODINA ELITE

Summary/Abstract: The research analyzes the reasons for the immigration of intellectuals into Hungary and the circumstances related to immigrants’ adaptation. The questioned „intellectuals“, who usually completed university education and only in some cases secondary school, were given a questionnaire (200 selected respondents) or were interviewed (20 selected respondents). As for poll-taking in this research, one could say that it was characterized by difficulties to provide answers. However, the process was facilitated by the fact that the author of these lines, who was also a subjekct in this research, knew well the problems of the emigration process, all the difficulties in the period while travelling to work, as well as the problems of sociaization. Constant contacts with one’s homeland, long hours spent waiting at the border crossing, talks with „the compatriots“, immigrants or travellers going in one direction or the other, created a sufficiently good foundation and basis to study the problem, the topic of this research, continually till today, throughly and practically on the spot.
