Rural communities and space: Lost connection

Summary/Abstract: The author's starting thesis in this study is that the correlation between rural area and village community goes beyond the understanding and concepts which regard area only as a resource in the economic sense, while the village community is seen as a producing agent in that relation. The author is of the opinion that the correlation between village community and area should be re-established on an autarkic level, which goes beyond the concepts of utilitarianism and consumerism. On the same note the author reckons that the processes which have devastated rural areas in the twentieth century have strong reverberations in present agrarian politics.
