It starts with the pre-trial activity of the police and other state administration bodies and ends with a final act of a court of law. Between these two elements - initial and final - there is considerable activity, both of investigating authorities and prosecutors, and of courts in many judicial control procedures. These procedures are intended to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens and legal persons.
