Summary/Abstract: On the background of a new Code of Civil Procedure adopted in Romania, but especially in the context of a change in enforcement to be adopted by the end of the year, the editorial staff of the magazine, together with the author found it appropriate to present the steps taken in 2006 to draw up a World Code of Enforcement in Civil Matters. The adoption of such a Code is a scientific approach particularly useful to the harmonization of national legislations on the so important and current issue of enforcement. The author aims to point out the core principles gathered in the Project, but mainly develops an answer to the question "What is the purpose of the World Code of Enforcement?"
