Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the history of one family, whose members have had a prominent place among the ranks of the Bulgarian military elite. The story about the personal and professional path of Colonel Boris Chilingirov is situated at the middle ground between the topics "elite" and "People’s court" and it also contains details about certain moments of the lives of his father and his first-born son. The goal is to use this particular example in order to show some of the mechanisms and paths, which were used in the crushing of the Bulgarian military elite after September 9th 1944.
