Summary/Abstract: The article explains how to use the names and election slogans in the self-presentation of election candidates competing in local elections. The analysis is based on the example of Szczecin local election campaign of 2014. The theoretical starting point for the analysis are such concepts as political communication, political competition and self-presentation. The basic thesis of the article is as follow: in the case of candidates who apply for the mandate for the first time, their self-presentation is based on a variety of factors; candidates who wishes to do re-election based primarily on their own names.
