Summary/Abstract: Considering the intention to validate a motivational model of dropout on Romanian students and undergraduate students, the model proposed by Hardre & Reeve [4] was the starting point for this study. Therefore, using structural equation model (SEM), the most part of hypothesis proposed by Hardre & Reeve were confirmed on Romanian population. Thus, the students with high perception on teacher autonomy support obtained higher score to self-determination motivation and perceived competence, and the high level of motivation lead to a low intention to dropout. In addition, perceived competence predicts expectance school performance, which in turn predicts the intention of dropout.
