Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the selected novels by Manuela Gretkowska and Jarosław M. Rymkiewicz whose narrative strategies result from double modes of a literary work structure, such as: text fragmentation and its incoherence at the level of creation (fictional segments, authentic and falsified documents, quotes, drawings) and data base “novelization” with the use of authorial “softwerisation” (graphic cross-references, phrase indexes or language references), forcing the reader to individually reconfigure the text. Such a structure makes a literary work similar to an Internet hyper-text and transforms a reader into a surfer trailing the tips and hints - the “links” - provided by the author or his own connotations. They all enable to accumulate the scattered pieces of information into one thematic whole or seąuences of events. Narrative strategies result from the dual textual role of the author - a skilled erudite constructing a data base of his literary work and a novelist telling some story in a way totally different from the traditional linear narration. The clash between a scholarly disąuisition, a trivial subject and a display of literary craftsmanship becomes for a reader the most appealing aspect of the text perception replacing the actual plot of the novel. Ludic buffoonery of the author fits into the post-modem marketing strategy of a novelist - a fair prestidigitator amusing the audience with impressive displays of his literary craftsmanship.
