Summary/Abstract: The literature on detention is gener-ally an area of memories, of objective notation,but, at the same time, of literary writing. Thememorialization of the past functions alwaysto a certain degree acts as a legitimizinggesture directed towards the present. Thistype of narrative, moving away from theautobiographical dimension of the narrative ofsurvival, gains a certain form of autonomy inrelation to the theoretical stakes which tried,at all costs, to assimilate it. Using testimonieswhich approach literature, this article is inter-ested in how survivors appropriate variousrhetorical and narrative strategies to negotiatetheir relationship with the traumatic past.
