Summary/Abstract: The article presents an attempt to analyze the identity problem of liberature. Describing a lot of examples from The Exhibition/Reading room in Arteteka of The Regional Public Library in Krakow, the author proves that the phenomenon of liberature is one of the styles of reading, when a reader gets to know a real author through material marks of literary work. That way, the author combines two structural theories: polish school of analyzing a process of reception of literary work through virtual reader and Wayne C. Booth’s idea of an implied author. Thereby, two fictional beings complement one another in a process of reading. The author shows that liberature is one of the styles of reading, which depends on the reading sensitivity concerning hidden author’s strategies, so the identity problem is not the most important question for the knowledge of literary work.
