Summary/Abstract: The Yugoslav-American relations during the Cold War were characterized by the periods of ups and downs in the cooperation between the two countries. This paper deals with the visit of Senator James William Fulbright, and its importance for the improvement of relations between Yugoslavia and the US in the second half of 1964. This visit was an important part of the plan of the Yugoslav state leadership to improve relations with Washington, which were not satisfactory in the first half of 1964.
