Sources of Information for Innovative Activities at Industrial Enterprises of the R&D Sector in the Lower Silesian Province in 2010-2012

Summary/Abstract: In her article, the author showed findings of the survey carried out among industrial enterprises in the area of the Lower Silesia region. An aim of considerations is an attempt to determine the impact of different determinants in the form of sources of information on innovative activity of industrial enterprises incurring outlays on research and development. The research hypothesis is allegation that activity in the sphere of industrial enterprises in the Lower Silesian Province incurring outlays on R&D depends on differentiated determinants affecting those entities, while the sources of innovation may stimulate this sphere of activities in different-direction way. In the carried out survey, there took place 761 industrial enterprises from the Lower Silesian region in 2010-2012, of which 118 enterprises declared incurrence of outlays on R&D. The carried out surveys showed a number of important dependences; therefore, awareness of the impact of sources of information for innovative activities on individual attributes of innovativeness is an important element of cognition of the region’s specificity. The conclusions indicated in the article as regards the used sources of knowledge and information for innovative activities within the regional industrial system should be analysed and taken into consideration while creating innovative strategies.
