TOWARD DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE BANKING BUSINESS MODELS

Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the context of development of sustainable banking business models as one of the strategic management issues and major aspects of the banking corporate governance. First, the general perspectives on banking business models are discussed. Second, an adequate approach is given under the major evolving business model patterns in the global banking system with special remarks to the shadow banking and financial innovations and the possible effects on sustainable development. Finally, this study concludes with some general recommendations for the corporate governance.
