Summary/Abstract: The social security of Poles emigrating to Germany is often particularly vulnerable. This is due to the adverse mechanisms and phenomena on the European labour market suchas social dumping by subcontracting and bogus self-employment. Social security is ensuredby the European directives and regulations, as well as institutions and tools of the German integration policy. This article answers the question whether these measures infact contribute to the improvement of social security of Poles working in Germany.
