Summary/Abstract: The study presents the 1881 urbanization plan made by the city engineer Peter Bartesch regarding the improvement of the space remained after the demolition of the old fortifications on the northern side of Braşov Citadel, between this and the Blumăna suburb. Bartesch divides the old zwingers and a part of the formerly bilge water of the city in twenty four building places, designs here a theatre and reshapes the line of the Down Promenade, near which will develop gradually the Rudolf Street. On this side of the old citadel built up in the last two decades of the XIX century and in the first decade of the 20th century a representative built area consisting in villas and public buildings.
