Summary/Abstract: The present article presents how phraseological units represent the cultural and national stereotypes in the Russian, Latvian and English languages. The research is devoted to comparative analysis of phraselogical units with “national” components. The aim of the article is to reveal interaction of Russian phraseologies with the equivalents in the English and Latvian languages according to the structure of meanings, to elucidate their role in the creation of fragments of conceptional world outlook in each of these languages. It was found that all phraseological units in the Russian, Latvian and English languages express negative qualities of different nationalities. Special attention has been paid to the relevant differences of phraseological units of three languages. Each of languages has their own “dislikes” and reasons can be different. The author bases on the facts of phraseological dictionaries.
