Summary/Abstract: The author deals with the issue of European criminal law from aspect of harmonization of national substantive and procedural criminal law systems of the Member States. In this connection, the author gives a historical rewiev of the development of international cooperation in criminal matters in the territory of the European Union from Maastricht to Lisbon. Special attention is paid to the novelties which are in this area of cooperation introduced by the Treaty of Lisbon.
