Summary/Abstract: The article describes the main trends in the development of the national school of restoration in the 20th cen-tury. Special attention is paid to the period of 50-60 years, as the stage of development of scientific and technological bases of the field. The evolution of some restoration techniques and their potential impact on further museums artifacts storage are analyzed.
