Summary/Abstract: Thesis formulated in staff selection and adaptation process, the problem in a public forum. Systematised and analysis of foreign and Lithuanian authors of the theory, employee selection and adaptation process. Although the selection and adaptation processes in public organizations face a continuous process of analysis so far has not been given sufficient attention. This article, based on literary analysis is to determine the selection and adaptation processes in the concept and features discussed in the selection and adaptation characteristics of the public sector, identifies the main public organizations, staff selection and adaptation process, methods and steps. According to the method of writing survey, conducted for the selection and adaptation process of the investigation of Klaipeda County Public I. Simonaitytės library. An analysis of Klaipeda County Public I. Simonaitytės library staff selection and adaptation features, it appears that the staff selection process is assessed objectively: the selection process is a direct conversation with the office manager or his deputy, references, and CV review.
