Summary/Abstract: Synesthesia is an interdisciplinary phenomenon. It is equally interesting to neurology, psychology, linguistics, and literary theory. Until now, the science of the Serbian language observed only nominal phrases. This paper deals with synesthesia with verbs of olfactory perception. The aim is to show which verbs have the possibility of synesthesia and which synesthetic transfers they demonstrate. Firstly, the paper discusses the existing results of the research of this phenomenon, after which the central verbs of the group are discussed and the meanings of verbs to smell and to stink are compared. Altogether, seven verbs which demonstrate synesthetic transfers are shown. Their metaphorical meanings are related to the senses of hearing, vision, and touch. None of the analyzed verbs transfers its meaning to the domain of the sense of taste.
