Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Article. The investigation concerns the little studied antiquity of Zakarpattia decorative carving and church painting – the iconostasis of Saint Peter and Paul church in the village of Turytsia, Perechyn district. The crisis of preservation and restoration of the art landmarks is connected not only with insufficient financing of this field of culture but also with the lack of the appropriate scientific researching of this material. Methodology. The methodology of the investigation is based on the visual, chronological and comparative analyses. These methods allowed to find out the stages of the development of the antiquity on the background of the historical processes in the region. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the investigation lies in the fact that the article is the first scientific studying of the antiquity with the aim of analysis, scientific reconstruction and further restoration of the iconostasis. Conclusions. The researching of the historic material and comparative analysis gave the author an opportunity to find out that the oldest part of the iconostasis belonged to the first half of the 18th century, the next one can be dated back to 1758, and the last intrusion had happened in 1830, when iconostasis had been transferred to the present masonry church.
