Regional Innovation System as a factor for Supporting the Innovativeness of the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

Summary/Abstract: A new trend of the modern stage of development of entrepreneurship is its regional orientation. This trend is determined by several factors. First, it is related to the orientation of small businesses. Due to the limited scale of its activity and the relatively small market, small business aims primarily at meeting the needs of local communities. Secondly, the choice of areas and types of activity for small businesses is determined largely by the economic, geographic and climate conditions of the regions in which they are expected to function in the future. The study reviews the innovativeness of the region as a specific environment for the entrepreneurship.
