Summary/Abstract: Contemporary studies indicate a higher risk of developing emotional disorders, including depression, in homosexual children. Such children are more likely to present behavioral disorders, adaptation problems, they also, more often than heterosexual children, attempt suicide, especially during puberty. Presumably, a significant reason is the sense of alienation, lack of acceptance from their peer environment, and lack of self-acceptance. This is a reason for concealing their sexual difference from the environment, denying the problem or conducting a double life, the “normal” one, generally accepted by the environment, as well as the “hidden” one, frequently unaccepted by loved ones. The aim of the presentation is to draw attention to the problem of the causes and consequences of the lack of acceptance of children’s homosexuality in a family.
