Summary/Abstract: A comprehensive and holistic analysis of the evolution of educational ideas in Tatar literature is given in the article. Preconditions of their occurrence are shown: primary ideological sources of educational thought of the Tatar people, beliefs of well-known educators such as S. Mardzhani, K. Nasyri, M. Akyigit. Significant attention is paid to the analysis of works by M. Akyigit where the characteristic features of educational realism are most clearly reflected. Also the works of Z. Bigiev, a founder of detective genre in Tatar literature, are analyzed. The author has paid attention to the works of such educators as R. Fakhretdinov, G. Ishaki, G. Chugtai, Z. Hadi and S. Mukhamedov. A transition from educational to critical realism is shown.
