Summary/Abstract: The article scrutinizes Ivan Franko’s contribution to the research of the Ukrainian wedding drama. It has been remarked that the scholar concentrated on the investigation of the regional versatility of the “marriage poetry” along with the national common peculiarities. Focus has been drawn to the complex approach to the analysis of wedding (recording and publication of new materials, scholarly commentary and artistic reception), which was successfully implemented by Ivan Franko.
