Summary/Abstract: This article has two main aims. The first aim is to publish two short marginal notes recently discovered in a Transylvanian manuscript from the Brukenthal Library, in Sibiu. These notes, each a few lines long, are referring to the Ottoman campaign against Burzeland in the summer of 1432 and to the Romanians’ uprising in the Fogarasch in the 1433. The second incident is less known and scarcely documented. The two notes are extremely valuable for the political history of the region as they have been written in close geographical and chronological proximity. Moreover, these notes are corroborating, but also refining, some other historical sources, which date from later periods. The second aim of this article is to refer to an episode from the Transylvanian intellectual history, which is such a little-known subject.
