Summary/Abstract: The problem with health, diseases, pain and suffering accompanies every society from the beginning of humanity. The life and health of a man are considered as a unity. That is why in every society and during all the history all religions are devoted to the matter of health which is essential for a sensible life. Religion teaches people that it is extremely important to bring methods and remedies to health in order to improve it during the illness, pain and suffering. Health is the natural state of an every human being. In this paper I present attitudes to health and medicine of ancient religious beliefs in Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome and of four religions: judaism, christianity, islam and buddism.
