Code of ethics of museums – main operating base of contemporary museum

Summary/Abstract: The new Code of Ethics developed by ICOM is valid for museum institutions worldwide. This article is an analysis of the structure of the Code, the main items on the museum’s role in preserving, interpreting and promoting cultural and natural heritage, the museum’s relations with the community from which the role of museums and museum collections in contemporary society. Code by its title refers not only to the museum, but everything that touches the museum institution. It also can serve as a good guide to improve our legislation museum, or create your own Code of Ethics for Museums of the Republic of Moldova.
