Summary/Abstract: The article explores Hilary Putnam’s analysis of the distinction between factual and value judgments. The topics discussed relate to the main arguments against the non- cognitivist, emotivist interpretation of value claims. Hilary Putnam’s contribution is evaluated in the light of the problem of scientific objectivity, and his notion of “objectivity without objects” is supported from within the context of pragmatist philosophy
