Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the complex motifs in Serbian folk ballads in which we find a kind of “Feminine principle”. The types of ballads were analyzed, in which, through female types (mother, sister, bride). In a spotlight in scientific research are poetic motifs of spells, poisoned wine, mother’s heart, relationship between sisters and brothers and woman position in a new home (sister – “foreigner”) .
