Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of text creation and text perception of samples of horror genre in Ukrainian. The analysis of Ukrainian horror texts of the 19th century allowed not only defining and formulating the reader’s initiation schemes but also revealing national specificity of text creation in this genre. The results of the analysis presuppose further perspectives of these studies within the bounds of one language or comparatively.
