Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to describe the internal differentiation and development of new spiritual verse of the 1990s. Selecting from a vast amount of material, it analyzes and interprets works by Martin J. Stöhr (b. 1970), Miloš Doležal (b. 1970), Pavel Kolmačka (b. 1962), Pavel Petr (b. 1969), Petr Čichoň (b. 1969), and Tomáš Reichl (b. 1969). The first three of these authors are presented are as examples of the natural, rustic spiritual verse that was highly productive in the 1990s. This type of lyric verse is characteristic of a special traditionalism, rooted in the rural stylization of the persona and in the classic form of the stanza. The second type, called ‘gestic’ here, is characterized by a strong manifestation of the creative act itself, the locating of fictional worlds further away from the present world, and numerous stylistic references to Decadent verse.
