Summary/Abstract: The continuity of the teaching process and the consistency of the education content on different educational stages as well as competence, which should be transferred to pupils and students, are the challenges for the education of the contemporary information society. Therefore Department of Biological Sciences (University of Wroclaw) take a wide educational activity and extensive cooperation with schools of different levels. The numerous initiatives (local science festivals, classes for pupils of different educational stages, lessons in schools throughout the region, etc.) allowed to assess needs of the environment, develop pupils’ interests and knowledge of nature. The students are being involved into this action, so they can gain their professional experience (students of teaching specializations) and train soft skills, which enhance their success in the labor market and implement the concept of lifelong learning.
