Summary/Abstract: The authors stop attention to the development of medicine and pharmacy in Plovdiv during that era. There is a short overview of national healing and pharmaceutical activity from the first half of the 19th century,which is a continuation of late medieval healing practices. Successively presented are the medical practice, the development of science-based pharmacy and public – political activity of the first graduate doctors in Plovdiv. Here we can mention the names of Dr. Stoian Chomakov, Dr. Michael Vlados, Dr. Rasko Petrov, Dr. Sotir Antoniadou and others. The scientific notices aim to remind the current generations the largest contributions of these pioneers in the medical and pharmaceutical healthcare practice in Plovdiv during the Renaissance.
