Summary/Abstract: The Permanent International Committee for Relief to the Wounded Armies (PICRWA) was the initial name under which the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) started its activity and development. Besides Henry Dunant, it included gen. G. Henry Dufour, Gustave Moynier, d-r. Luis Appia and d-r. Theodor Maunoir. The aim of the author in the report was to characterize the personnel composition of PICRWA and the significance of their activity, limiting the research in the frame of 1863. The individual composition of the participants and their work in team was very important for the internal functioning of the institution, as well as for the relation of the international circles and public opinion towards the debating problems. During the year the efforts of the Committee achieved positive result: convening and the successful work of the International forum in Geneva in August 1863. The author has studied a large circle of sources, incl. archive documents.
