Summary/Abstract: The author outlines the contemporary face of the Deutsches Rote kreuz on the occasion of its 150 th anniversary. She introduces the readers in the basic directions of Organization’s work. The large net of its branches, voluntaries, donators, partners and beneficients were pointed. So many people avail of its support and services. It was set out the efforts of DRK for advance in the social sphere by dialog with the state and municipal institutions working together with influential religious and humanitarian organizations. Many facts were adduced to prove the big achievements of DRK in the field of the public health and social services. The author informs about the appreciations of the Bundespresident Joachim Gauck for the place and historical merits of DRK. The important ideas of the DRK’s President d-r R.Seiters on the tasks that should be realized by the Organization during the coming years were also set forth.
