Pedagogical High Schools of the City of Iasi during the Inter-War Years. Documents

Summary/Abstract: Secondary education in Inter-War Romania is a topic that requires further research. A thorough study cannot be conducted without a coherent view on the organisation of education in the big cities of the time. The structure of secondary education, the frequency of students’ attendance of theoretical, technological or vocational high schools, fees and the average number of students that passed the Baccalaureate exam based on ethnicity, not to mention the degree of development in private education are all elements that contribute to a vivid picture of inter-war Romanian education. The purpose of this text is to provide statistical data on the pedagogical schools of Iasi drawing on the elements above.
