The Albanians World-Wide

Summary/Abstract: The Albanians, a small population like many, nevertheless enjoy a strong diffusion in the world. They live compact and in large numbers in the Balkans, including RPS of Albania and RSF of Yugoslavia. If we go down the steps of history, we see that 'it was from the fourteenth century that masses of Albanians emigrated from their country to settle in Greece, Italy and, later still, in Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, and elsewhere. In the twentieth century, a large number of Albanians settled in the United States, Australia, and elsewhere, notably during the Balkan wars, throughout the period between the two wars, leaving mainly Yugoslavia for to settle in Turkey. The reasons for displacing are mainly socio-economic and political.
