On French military slang at the time of the First World War

Summary/Abstract: The article is focused on the analysis of French trench slang during the First World War and its rendition into Bulgarian, more specifically in lexicographic and fiction works. The method for analysis adopted is the one of cultural linguistics, where the emphasis is laid on semantic and functional considerations of the creation and use of French military slang. An attempt is made at reconstructing the Bulgarian military slang for the respective time period.
