BUSINESS INCUBATORS AS AN INSTRUMENT OF THE POLITICS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: Bulgaria reached the highest economic growth from the EU Member States in the years beforethe economic crisis. However, this growth did not lead to positive structural changes in the Bulgarianeconomy and did not respond to the requirements of the EU Strategy 2020, which highlightssmart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Basing on the requirements of the Europe 2020 Strategy,the article identifies some major difficulties that Bulgaria will face implementating this strategy. Onthis background it consideres the advantages and opportunities that business incubators’ programsprovide to overcome these difficulties and specific problems that might be solved with the supportof business incubators.
