Summary/Abstract: The Iceberg-Text and the Semiotic Perspective on Text Typology. In the field of contemporary text linguistics, the iceberg-text (a concept developed by Carmen Vlad) is already acknowledged and functioning as a starting point for different types of analysis that approach the text in the terms of a linguisticsemiotic category. The iceberg-text selects and describes a transparent fact accepted by all those engaged in the study of texts; it is an applicable and practical solution in the text research sphere, solving many of the controversial aspects of text linguistics/ text theory. Thus, text research becomes a central theory; the body of such theory must be developed so as to be able to seize both the basic qualities of the text product and the creative-discerning qualities that are typical to the process of construing the sense of the text.
