Summary/Abstract: The present article discusses the unequal treatment of women and men in the employment field in terms of unequal opportunities and discrimination against female job-seekers. The article presents key theoretical explanations and adopted legal provisions and standards in the employment field, the results of a national employers’ awareness campaign and results of a pilot survey among male and female graduates of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The aim is to ascertain whether, in their opinion, the purpose of the mechanism of a non-discriminatory job announcement marked with ‘M/W’, a so-called protective measure to ensure equal treatment that is determined in the Employment Relationship Act, is being achieved.
