Summary/Abstract: The application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a development tool rests on the assumption that ICT improves the efficiency and enhance access to knowledge and expertise. The application of ICT in music education largely depends upon having the population that can use it. This means that both music teachers and music students will need to acquire skills necessary to apply ICT in teaching and learning. The lack of training, infrastructure and resources that should lead to ICT literacy pose a great challenge in schools in Uganda. The introduction of Universal Primary Education and Universal Secondary Education as some of Uganda’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) has been partly enhanced by outdated technologies including radio and television. The introduction and application of ICT in music education can improve educational provision and delivery if carefully monitored and applied effectively. While various changes and developments are shaping the future for music education, with the development of computer music production, access to appropriate technology is still a challenge, and though the costs of technological application and production are steadily falling in developed countries, they are rising in developing countries. This paper discusses the survey that was conducted on the application and integration of ICT in music education in Uganda.
