Effects on Economic Crisis of the Educational System

Summary/Abstract: The education system in Romania, as well as other national systems of education in the world, is currently facing the most serious economic crisis of the last half a century. Unlike other social systems, education systems are put in the situation to face not only the type of financial constraints, but also pressures imposed by the demographic changes, occupational, technological etc. The way in which we reduce negative effects of the crisis, will depend the quality of education, to ensure equal opportunities for access to educational attainment of the population, employment growth of the population etc. In article we'll focus on how the economic crisis has affected the education system in Romania. Data that we are going to study come from research carried out in the last few years in Romania by institutes, research centers but also statistical data belonging to certain institutions, such as INS, Eurydice, Eurostat, OECD.
