Summary/Abstract: To strengthen as engaging in sport contributes to Women's liberation of rigid gender stereotypes, which in every as well as in our environment, comprise traditional concept of femininity, we conducted research on the sample of sport women (H=70) and non-sport women (H=102). Research was conducted by Belgrade Version BSRI (Vuletić, 1983) which consists of 15 attributes for measuring of femininity, 15 for measuring of masculinity and 16 more neutral social desirable (8) and undesirable (8) features. Results confirm our general hypothesis that engaging in sport liberates woman of rigid gender stereotypes, or accepting of traditional stereotype of femininity, by encouraging acceptance of androgenic concept of gender role. Results of variance analysis show that sport women compared to non-sport women are significantly more both feminine and masculine, which means they are androgenic (highly emphasized of feminine and masculine features, at the same time). Androgyny makes sport women strong, competent to lead, independent, brave, tempered, ready for risk and competition, but at the same time highly feminine, attractive, worm, innocent, pedantic and nice (agreeable).
