Summary/Abstract: The present text examines the studies on travels from Southeast Europe from the Late Antiquity to the present and outlines the potential for their development beyond the classical antiquarian questions. In this approach a series of hard facts are being compared to mental-historical facts. The aim is to give the science fruitful impulses for interdisciplinary research.
