Summary/Abstract: “Cancerlogs” are an important phenomenon in contemporary culture as they play a significant role in the process of cancer “demystification” and breaking the taboo associated with the life of people affected by the disease. At the same time they reveal that there is a great need to create a new language of the disease – a language closer to life, not to death. Joanna Sałyga’s blog – What will be the use of a headscarf? – became very popular on the Internet, and its author has also become the subject of reports in traditional media. I use it to demonstrate in the article how ill bloggers contribute to shaping contemporary discourse on the disease, both on the Internet and in the traditional media.
