Summary/Abstract: The author presents several important publications, conferences and reviews on elections for national minority councils, which were held on 26 October 2014 in Serbia. All cited authors confirm what has been indicated at the beginning of the campaign, and that is obvious entry of political parties in this election. These days, activities are announced, such as creating a new standard of achievement for Serbian as a second language, which is expected to be made by September 2015, by the Ministry of Education, with the support of the OSCE, and in cooperation with the Institute for evaluating the quality of education. In addition to this announcement, there follows the drafting of a new Law on Textbooks, which in the next four years, would give the right to national councils to determine the content of textbooks that would prevail in Serbia. In these announcements, at organized conferences, a lot of work scheduled for the upcoming period, is suggested. When we analyze the facts clearly, we must admit that we cannot be too optimistic. This text, incited by legal changes and the general situation regarding the elections for national councils of national minorities, warns that recent publications, reports, proceedings and round tables, should not be noticed only in the inner circles, because we must bear in mind that the election process requires awareness of the general public.
