Summary/Abstract: The definition of “energy security” contained in the Act of 10 April 1997, Energy Law, defines it as “the state of the economy allows to cover the current and prospective demand for fuel and energy in a technically and economically justified by the requirements of environmental protection”. There is no doubt that the concept of “fuels” covers some of the minerals, which can be a source of energy. Ensuring energy security should therefore also be used in the Act of 9 June 2011, Geological and Mining Law, which regulates the terms and conditions for the taking up and pursuit of activities in such areas as extracting minerals from deposits. The purpose of this article is to consider whether the provisions of this Act substantially correspond to those requirements. Have been analyzed in the particular issues relating to ownership of mineral deposits, mining rights and licensing extraction of minerals.
