Sposoby badania wartości stylistycznej afiksów obcych w perspektywie diachronicznej
The methods of stylistic value evaluation of non-native prefixes in the diachronic perspective

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to identify criteria which may be helpful in the course of research on the stylistic value of affixes of non-native origin and lexemes with these affixes in the history of the Polish language. These criteria include: 1) issues related to linguistic competence (a sense of language of the Polish language users in successive stages of its development and the evidence thereof, as well as the sense of language in contemporary scholars of Old Polish); 2) assessing the stylistic value of individual lexemes based on stylistic qualifiers in dictionaries recording the vocabulary of successive periods; 3) analysis of the contexts which the analyzed words were given in dictionaries; 4) conclusions based on observing the productivity of individual affixes in subsequent periods.
